Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a security license in Singapore?

Is this security course SkillsFuture claimable?
Yes, our security courses are Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) accredited and are eligible for SkillsFuture funding. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fees. Please check individual course pages for specific claim details.
What is the PWM for security officers and how does it affect my salary?
The Progressive Wage Model (PWM) is a framework that links salary increases to skills upgrading. It sets a minimum basic wage for each security rank. As you complete required training and gain experience, you can advance to higher ranks, which come with a higher mandatory salary under the PWM.
What is the difference between a Security Officer (SO) and a Senior Security Officer (SSO)?
A Security Officer (SO) performs essential duties like patrolling and access control. To become a Senior Security Officer (SSO), an SO needs at least six months of experience and must complete advanced training modules. An SSO has more responsibilities, such as handling complex incidents and operating advanced security systems, and earns a higher salary under the PWM.
